Canadian Firearms Safety Course

The Alberta Biathlon Club partners with the Alberta Hunter Education Instructor Association (AHEIA) to offer the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) to all athletes and/or parents/guardians of athletes enrolled in a Biathlon program in Alberta. All athletes 12 years of age or older require the CFSC to obtain their Minors Firearms License or Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) in order to participate in the sport of Biathlon.

The next CFSC course is planned to be offered in Spring 2021

If you need a PAL this fall, then you are encouraged to take the CFSC  with a private instructor at your earliest opportunity.  Due to the  shutdown, the RCMP are backlogged more than usual and PAL applications  are taking 6 months and up to process.  Your coach or Google can help  you find an instructor near you.
